Cookie Hanson, along with her husband, Gregory, have been in business since 1985, establishing Tour de Faux in 2000. They have owned businesses and provided services in California, New York, Montana and North Carolina.
Cookie Hanson has loved and practiced art since she was twelve years old. Her passion took her from acrylics to oil painting down to today, working with plasters, concrete, and now Bas Relief: low-relief wall sculpting.
For the past fifteen years she has been continuing her education in the faux finishing and decorative art world. Cookie is committed to continuing education, which allows her to create personalized art in homes and offices of her customers. She has also taught faux finishing and decorative art in her commercial studios.
During her decorative art career, Cookie created personalized faux finishing in homes featured in the Missoula, MT Parade of Homes. She won categories in all six events.
Cookie Hanson won a prestigious first-place award at the 2006 FauxCademy in Las Vegas for a concrete floor with a medallion. Judges were assembled from the U.S. and Europe.
Cookie’s work has also been seen on the HGTV show “What Do You Get For the Money?”. Among the works displayed on the show were two copper foil ceilings and a wall finish featuring an embedded leaf pattern.
